We have this, it's cool cuz you can pull the string and turn it into an orb so the light is dimmer.
But it's plastic and it's advised to only use low voltage lightbulbs iirc. My dad didn't care and changed the lame ass bulb to a brighter one after every guest made fun of it tho (since it wasn't bright enough)
Didn't melt yet so idk.

Probably dim enough that its off-putting/very noticeable.
And if the main light for the dinner table than any dinner guest would definitely notice.

I often complain about the light being too dim, or not having enough light sources, but I'm also exceptionally nearsighted, and my glasses makes it harder to see in poor ligthing.
I also play board games a lot, which requires me to read text and cards at a distance, often against a beige background.

I have the light- it's VERY dim and blocks most of the light from the bulb.
It's a very noticeable thing.

I had a strong lightbulb in mine too. Dafuq is supposed to happen, LEDs don't get that hot.

If you use a very bright LED that fits. LEDs don't produce a lot of heat so should be fine.

I have one and I fucking hate it. It just makes everything either piss dim or completely dim depending on whether it’s open or closed. It’s like intentionally inducing a fucking constant solar eclipse inside your house, wasting most of the energy you’re using to power the bulb. I hate it with a passion but I have no idea how to take it off so instead I just sit in the dark.

I wonder why these kind of designs aren't built for diswashers. Or at least soap/water under the shower. They could make it so any electronics can be removed easily, then just clean the rest without any major effort?

Looking at the assembly instructions, it looks like it's possible to disconnect the globe from the socket relatively easily. That wouldn't let you put it in the dishwasher, but could easily hose it off.

/r/gainit would like to have a word with you. For a lot of people trying to get muscular it’s very hard to eat. Powerlifters sometimes eat in excess of 4,000 calories so the small portions comment is a bit off for everyone. And processed food doesn’t really inherently imply you won’t build muscle or not get fat.
